SUMMARY:38th EFFoST International Conference: Future Food Systems: Innovation through Progress at Scientific Interfaces
DESCRIPTION:The 38th EFFoST International Conference: Future Food Systems: Innovation through Progress at Scientific Interfaces will be hosted by KU Leuven and UGent and supported by an independent scientific committee. The works at EFFoST2024 which will be held in the city of Bruges\, Belgium from 12-14 November 2024. \nAbstracts\nEFFoST2024 will explore the theme ‘Future Food Systems: Innovation through Progress at Scientific Interfaces’. Abstracts are welcome in any of the topics that are clustered by the following five main conference sub-themes: \nSub-theme 1: Human interface \n\nFood –nutrition–health\nFood for target groups\nSimulation of food human interactions (in vivo\, in vitro\, in silico)\nSensory and consumer science\nFood allergens and contaminants\n\nSub-theme 2: Raw material interface  \n\nNew food processing strategies\nInnovative food sources\nFood (ingredient) interactions\nFrom farm to factory\n\nSub-theme 3:  Micro-organism interface \n\nPredictive power of the food microbiome\nFood fermentations\nMicrobial safety and spoilage\nHygienic design\n\nSub-theme 4:  Sustainability interface \n\nWater and energy use\nFood packaging\nReducing food loss and waste\nSide-stream valorization\n\nSub-theme 5:  Computer science interface \n\nSensors\nModelling\, simulation and prediction\nFoodomics\, big data and AI\n\nAbstracts are now invited on the conference topics\, for consideration for oral and poster presentations.
